The Little John has a refurbished function room for up to 35 people on Station Road in Hathersage. It is used for birthdays, anniversaries, christenings and wakes, with the pub's kitchen and bar behind it and eight en-suite bedrooms above.
A function room in a pub works differently to a hired hall. There are no minimum spends dressed up as packages, no separate caterer to brief, and no drive home at the end of it if you would rather stay. The kitchen that cooks the Sunday carvery cooks for your room, and the bar that keeps three cask lines keeps them for your guests too.
It also means we can be flexible. Some events want a sit-down meal, some want bar snacks and a free bar, and a wake usually wants sandwiches, tea and somewhere to sit for a couple of hours. All of those are easy here.

Bigger groups are welcome too, but would be spread across the snug, the bar and the taproom rather than all in one room.
